Description: Indigenous to the northern hemisphere, this perennial plant, has greenish berries. It prefers swampy ditches and marshes in a protected position. Also known as Sweet Flag, it was well-known in Biblical times and mentioned in Exodus 30: 22-25 as one of the ingredients of the holy anointing oil.

Aromatic Scent: Calamus Root has a refreshing scent similar to cinnamon with a base note and medium aroma.

Common Uses: The therapeutic properties of Calamus oil rejuvenates, circulatory, anti-spasmodic, anti-arthritic, cephalic, nervine, tranquilizing, stimulant, decongestant, anti-rheumatic, emetic, anti-periodic, memory boosting, carminative, stomachic, bactericidal and expectorant properties.
